Are you tired of having to start over with your skills in the spring because you didn’t paddle during the winter? Are you tired of being cold on the river? Are you new to paddling and and haven’t faced this issue yet? Well, come to this clinic and you’ll soon have a new motto: “I don’t mind being out while it’s cold, but I don’t intend to be cold while I’m out! “
Both kayakers and canoeists are invited to join us for this classroom clinic on winter paddling. We will discuss clothing, gear, equipment and special considerations for winter paddling. We will have different pieces of gear and clothing for you to look at and compare.
The clinic will take place at Kedron Aquatic Center in Peachtree City in one of their activity rooms on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Roll Practice will start at 5:00 pm. We encourage you to come to the clinic and then stay for roll practice – you’ll already be there and a roll is one of your best defenses against hypothermia and injury. You will be warmer and safer if you stay in your boat!
The cost for this clinic is $10 and ACA insurance will be required. If you are an ACA member there will be no additional charge. If you are not an ACA member you will need to pay $5 for event insurance. We can take up to fifteen people for the clinic.
The instructors will be Lisa Haskell, Jorge Mestre and Marshall Busko.
