The 12th running of Spartanburg Parks Commission’s Tame the Tyger Downriver Race, Group Float, and Festival is set for Saturday, April 2nd. Float starts at 10AM and race starts at 11AM. The festival will feature Bull Hawgs BBQ, bluegrass by Bushy Valley Boys, boat demos, and prize drawings in which all registrants can win prizes from Green River Adventures, The US National Whitewater Center, a brand new Perception Tribe 9.5 and more. Racers will compete in long kayak, short kayak, women’s open, and open canoe divisions for prizes like a Liquid Logic Deuce Coupe (fastest overall time), Werner Sherpa Paddle (short kayak 1st place), Watershed Ocoee Dry Duffel (long kayak 1st place), Eno Double Hammocks, Pelican Cases, NRS Quick Change Duffles, and more!

These awesome prizes would not be possible without presenting sponsors Woodruff-Roebuck and SJWD Water Districts.

Save an additional $5 on your entry fee by participating in the Tyger River Sweep on Saturday, March 26 near Lyman Lake.

Volunteer safety boaters are also needed and will receive BBQ lunch and a t-shirt for their time on the water.
