Gee Creek Trail, Delano, TN

You’re invited to join Brannen and me as we hike the Gee Creek Trail on Monday morning, September 6 (Labor Day), following the Hiwassee River Paddles over the weekend.  It’s Easy to Moderate (Class 1-2 for you river runners) and just a short drive from Gee Creek Campground near the Hiwassee River where many of us camp.  Contact Carol Reiser at creiser11@gmail.com for meet up details if you would like to participate.

We’ll start at the parking area at the end of Gee Creek Road and go to the Twin Falls, a round trip of approximately 2 miles.  It will be a leisurely hike with frequent stops to take in the creek, rock formations, and flora. The trail is easy to moderate, but rocky so walking or hiking shoes are recommended. There’s a bit of climbing before you reach the falls so if you want to stop and turn around at that point, it’s still a beautiful hike.  Duration will be about 2 hours.

  • Easy to moderate hike
  • Hiking or walking shoes recommended
  • Beautiful creek with waterfalls, fascinating rock formations and plants
