Events > 2020 > July > Jack Taylor's 80th Birthday Celebration (Rescheduled) - July 4th at 6:30pm

About this event:

Created by Carol Reiser

GCA’s venerated trip coordinator, Jack Taylor, had his 80th birthday on May 1st in the midst of the stay-at-home orders.  However, he will be paddling the Hiwassee River the 4th of July weekend and we’ll be celebrating his birthday belatedly on Saturday night!

Meet at sites A-6 & A-8 on Saturday, July 4th at 6:30pm.  There will be cake!!! We plan to grill. If you have a grill, please bring it, otherwise we’ll cram as much on our 18″ grill as possible. Also, sides and chips will be welcome. Please bring your own beverages. Tennessee State Parks now allow alcohol consumption in outdoor settings.

We will require masks to be worn and practice social distancing, especially to protect the elders in our midst.  I’ll have some masks with me if you need one.  Also, bring something to sit on.

Please contact Carol Reiser at creiser11@gmail.com if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you there!
