About this event:
Come join me on February 16, 2019 as I paddle the beautiful TBD river! (They’re all beautiful, right?)
We are supposed to get some rain this week so I’ll be watching the gauges. My first choice is the Lower Conasauga River fron the Jack’s Creek put in to the public take out on Ball Play Rd. This trip is approximately nine miles. The first six miles are class II/II+ with a couple that are approaching class III. The last three miles will be fairly flat but that is necessary to get to a public egress point. This is a beautiful river with very clear water and lots of fish.
In the interest of full disclosure, this is an exploratory trip. I have never run this river – everything I said about it above is hearsay. That being said, I have researched the run and actually driven to the access points so I know what those are like.
If we don’t get enough water to run the Conasauga then I’m thinking about running the Etowah Tunnel section – I saw some chatter on Facebook that people might be interested in doing that. That is approximately 8 miles with some easy whitewater before the Tunnel and a good bit of flat water after the tunnel.
If there is too much water to safely run the Etowah Tunnel I’ll come up with something of similar difficulty!
If you would be interested in joining me on this trip please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or (678) 858-2012. Clicking RSVP does not mean you are on the trip.
