This section is highly under rated. Major rapids have ended, but the river did not. The current is non-stop for miles with very little flat water. Small rapids that are perfect for beginners are regularly break the silence. Scenery is good for the first half, but is disappointing as the river pulls along beside Hwy 52 and enters Ellijay.
Shortly after the outfitter, there are two more rapids. The second is visible from Hwy 52, and is by far the largest on this section. It is straight forward and is the only class 1 on this section.
Toward the end of this section, the Ellijay river enters on the right and the two merge to create the Coosawatee river.
