Given the growth in the area, this river is outstanding! It was surprising how little the development and industry effected the experience. The river is generally deep with a few rocky shoals that are low class 1. The river current varies from very slow to 5 MPH. Swims have the potential to be quite long.

Return to Top USGS Water Gauge:Return to Top Put In / Take Out Location:Put in: On I-575 drive North Airport Rd. and turn right. This will dead end into Canton Highway. Turn left. Drive 1.1 miles and turn right on East Cherokee Drive..Take out: Take Canton Hwy. (Hwy 140) past Cherokee High School to Boiling Park. Parking is plentiful. There are several places to take out, but the river banks are steep. On the Georgia River Explorer Series we took out under the bridge.
