Coosawatte River from the re-regulation dam to highway 136 starts off with an impressive looking class II rapid. It looks worse than it is and is straight foward ending in a large pool. With a little portage this can be avoided. The current is brisk at 2-3 miles per hour. Scenery started off very nice, but fades due to the huge number of tires that have been dumped into the river. Turtles found in most Georgia rivers seemed to be missing. River wide strainers provide some real obstacles at the end of the run.
