About this event:
This is a one-day skills refresher course for paddlers who have basic paddling experience, but want to fine-tune their skills, whether due to not being in their boats all winter, or wanting to improve their skills before taking a more challenging class.
Instructors Tammy Lea and Lisa Haskell will work with students on paddle strokes, peel outs, ferrying and eddy catching, as well as review river safety and river reading skills.
This class is for paddlers who have some paddling experience. You must have your own boat and gear. Class will either take place on the Upper Hooch near Cornelia, or on the Metro Hooch, depending on the skill level of the students.
Required gear: whitewater boat, helmet, PFD, spray skirt, paddle, water and snacks.
