About this event:
Come out to the GCA Spring Membership Paddle on April 22nd.
Meet other members and let us know how we can serve you better in order to make the club the best it can be!!
Canoes and kayaks welcome! Bring your own boat and gear, or, rental gear is available on-site from Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) Chattahoochee.
FREE FOOD!! The club will be providing pizza from Harry’s!
FREE SHUTTLE TOO before we paddle, GCA has arranged with NOC for shuttle after our pizza and meeting. We’ll drop boats at the top, have pizza and our brief club meeting, take cars down and ride NOC bus back to the put-in. Please RSVP so we have a good head count!
If you’re a newer paddler or looking to meet other experienced paddlers, this is an active and great club to be part of. Many of our members paddle year-round, with appropriate winter gear.
Depending on water level, the Metro Chattahoochee is an easy Class 1 to Class 2 run of about 2.5 miles. With a few easy but wide rapids, there are abundant places to work on skills and play. Dress for cooler temperatures; the water will be cool at around 60 F.
We will put in at Powers Island (address above).
